Quick Summary
The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey, on behalf of the Joint Program Executive Office Armaments and Ammunition (JPEO A&A) and the Office of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems (PM-CCS), is conducting market research via a Sources Sought Notification (SSN) for the Terrain Shaping (TS) capability. This effort supports a bilateral U.S./UK project to develop an autonomous materiel solution for delivering, deploying, and managing obstacles. An Industry Day is scheduled for February 25-26, 2026, near Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, to discuss the acquisition strategy and user needs.
Purpose & Scope
This SSN aims to identify potential sources for an autonomous TS capability that integrates advanced technologies for obstacle delivery, deployment, and management, ensuring Soldier safety and operational superiority. The objective is to identify, develop, integrate, and demonstrate a minimum viable autonomous TS capability within one year. Desired characteristics include autonomous emplacement, safe passage, autonomous delivery and recovery, advanced networked kinetic effects, obstacle planning, and non-kinetic field effects.
