Quick Summary
The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey is conducting market research via a Sources Sought Notification (SSN) for the Terrain Shaping (TS) capability. This effort supports a bilateral U.S. and United Kingdom project to develop an autonomous materiel solution for delivering, deploying, and managing obstacles. An Industry Day is scheduled for February 25-26, 2026, in Mt Arlington, NJ, to discuss the acquisition strategy and user needs. Prototyping is anticipated to utilize DOD Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs).
Opportunity Details
The government seeks an autonomous materiel solution for Terrain Shaping to enhance battlefield effectiveness and minimize Soldier risk. The objective is to identify, develop, integrate, and demonstrate a minimum viable autonomous TS capability within one year. Desired characteristics include autonomous emplacement, safe passage, autonomous delivery and recovery, advanced networked kinetic effects, obstacle planning, and non-kinetic field effects.
Industry Day Event
An Industry Day will be held on February 25-26, 2026, at the Courtyard Marriott, 15 Howard Blvd, Mt Arlington, NJ 07856. Day 1 will feature unclassified briefings on the acquisition strategy and program updates. Day 2 is reserved for pre-scheduled one-on-one sessions with industry to discuss capabilities and potential collaboration.
Acquisition Strategy
The government anticipates soliciting and executing prototyping of TS utilizing DOTC Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs). A DOTC Request for White Papers is planned for release on or about March 6, 2026. Interested companies should review membership requirements with the National Armaments Consortium (NAC) as it may be required to respond to future DOTC solicitations.
