The MATOC will cover general construction services, including demolition, renovation, new construction, and alterations at eight major VISN 7 medical facilities and other VA-owned sites in Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. The scope may expand to additional VHA facilities within the geographical footprint. Three "seed projects" are included to demonstrate the breadth of work:
- Seed 1 (Charleston VAMC): Renovation of restrooms, stairwells, and doors, including asbestos abatement and strict infection control (ICRA Level IV). Personnel for this seed project may be dual/triple-hatted for Superintendent, SSHO, and QC Manager roles.
- Seed 2 (Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Dublin, GA): Relocation of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, involving complex installations for CT, MRI, and other medical imaging systems, requiring specific structural, electrical, and environmental preparations. Personnel for this seed project must be separate full-time individuals for Superintendent, SSHO, and QC Manager roles.
- Seed 3 (Tuskegee VAMC): Correcting egress door deficiencies across multiple buildings, requiring detailed door/frame schedules and compliance with fire ratings and safety codes.
