Scope of Work

The project encompasses several critical airfield maintenance tasks:

  • Rubber Removal: Removal of rubber from runways 30 and 12, totaling approximately 420,000 square feet. This includes removing and replacing aircraft arresting cables as needed.
  • Pavement Markings: Striping new instrument control and wing tip clearance lines (yellow and black), and removing/replacing markings on taxiways, parking aprons, and the flightline road. This also includes repainting taxiway edge and centerline markings on the Live Ordnance Load Area (LOLA) C.
  • Crack Sealing & Repair: Sealing and repairing cracks in asphalt shoulders adjacent to Taxiway Alpha "A" and the Alpha Arm/Dearm Pad. This involves applying sealant to cracks 1/4" to 1" wide (with backer rod) and following UFGS 32-01-17.61 for cracks 1" wide and greater. Crack maintenance on LOLA C includes addressing small (1/4" to 1 3/4") and larger (1 3/4" to 4") cracks, filling with backup material, and applying herbicide.
  • Optional Services (Bid Options): Additional markings for LOLA C & D, further crack cleaning and sealing on LOLA C, and removal/restriping of apron edge lines and various other lines (AGE Boxes, tow lines, parking lines).

Special Requirements & Notes

  • Base Access: Contractor personnel must attend the Airfield Drivers course, adhere to base regulations, and obtain airfield access approval (EAL) separate from base access (SF-30).
  • Environmental: Wastewater and Solid Waste Disposal must comply with Specification 01 57 19. Hazardous Material Usage requires approval.
  • Reporting: Weekly progress reports and submittals for review are required. Electronic submission of payment requests and receiving reports via Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF) is mandatory.
